Some yard debris can go into a dumpster, but “yard waste” is too broad for a reliable yes or no. Branches and brush are not the same load as wet soil, sod, stumps, treated lumber, irrigation parts, or mixed trash.
Name every material
List branches, leaves, grass, soil, rock, sod, palm material, stumps, fence boards, and irrigation parts separately. Dense soil can reach a weight limit with little visible volume.
Keep hazardous products out
Pesticides, herbicides, pool chemicals, fuels, oils, batteries, and treated wood may require special disposal. California directs residents to local household hazardous-waste resources for many of these products.
Prepare the route
- Check soft soil and irrigation lines.
- Trim low branches in the truck path.
- Keep the loading route short and stable.
- Do not load above the top edge.
